And there is an auction for a BX23 with rear box blade, Kubota tiller, and front mounted blower - currently at $15,600 - sounds like a really good price for this setup

( 1*I didn't know that you can buy a BX23 with out the loader and backhoe.
2*You also forgot to add the FEL in with the 2230. )

===============
1*Buy just the BX2230 and you've got the BX23 with out a FEL and BH.
2*I did not include the FEL because he can use the FEL from his BX2200 Just like he can use the BX2200 MMM.

It was said above you could buy the BX2200 and it was same as BX23 without BH... This is not true. The BX2200 has an entirely different chassis frame design that is much less robust, and will NOT take a backhoe later.

I believe that the engineers at Woods Equipment Company would take issue with your statement. I also know that there are a few satisfied Kubota BX owners with Woods backhoes that will also take issue with your statement. I will agree that the BX1500/1800/2200/1830/2230 all have a different frame than the BX22/23, however they all will accommodate the Woods backhoe and there is not issues reported so far by the owners of these Woods backhoes regarding performance of the backhoe. The only thing that has been commented on is the hight of the ROPS that Kubota supplies with these tractors. If you would like to acquaint yourself with the Woods Backhoe, please go to this web page.

He didn't say BX2200, he said BX2230. In any case, there are now around 5 people on this board who have bought a Woods BH6000 and placed it on either a BX2200 or BX2230. They have all reported outstanding results with the one small inconvenience of smaller ROPS. Other than that, not one has had anything negative to say about this backhoe. The frame issue was addressed and there appears to be no problem. All this has been discussed in exhaustive detail. You may wish to search the archives and read for yourself. One guy even has a BX1500 with a BH6000 on it. He posted numerous photos of the impressive results this combination accomplished. I was dubious at first as well, but all these reports and photos have convinced me that the BH6000 is a first class implement which will work exceptionally well on ANY BX.

Wood_Butcher_Dav: It's NOT possible to get a BX23 without BH and FEL.

My local Kubota dealer's bottom line quote to put a BH6000 on my BX2200: $4975.

This whole "BX22/23 frame is so completely different" line of reasoning cracks me up. It reminds me of the people I know in the car world who will argue up and down about how much different a Pontiac Trans Am and a Chevy Camaro are. I think if you do a close examination of the BX2230/1830 frame and the BX23 frame you will see that there really is not much difference between the two other than the parts that were added to the base frame to beef it up for the backhoe. In essence the Woods backhoe setup mimics what the Kubota engineers did to beef up the base frame for the backhoe. If Woods would come out with an expanded ROPS that could be added to the tractor when you install the backhoe - or if you adapted the BX23 ROPS to a tractor with the Woods backhoe - you would have a setup very comparable to the BX23.

IMHO the BX22/23 ROPS is TOO TALL! Plus it only folds down to approx 90 degrees. Making it stick straight out the back a couple feet getting in all kinds of way(s) /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

The best "fix" for a folding ROPS on a BX would be one similar to the 180 degree folding ROPS on the B series tractors which btw works w/their BH attachments.......

Rant off, now back to your regularly scheduled BH debate /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
