The 030-35 liner will work for just about everything and I believe it's the liner that comes with the machine.

I typically use 030 wire (gas shielded solid ER70) for everything I weld.

Keeping the wire clean prior to using it keeps the liners lasting a long time.

I use mine in a production enviroment and I've never replaced a liner.

Mentioned earlier about the stick welders heres a DC 140A 110/220 stick welder for around 220 just got one my self. they have 3-1 units, tig, mig and plasma cutters.

You sound like somebody who would really enjoy a standard, basic AC/DC welder, like the Hobart 235 AC/DC Stickmate. You can perform virtually any welding task in the world with it, unless you're building a battleship or a space shuttle.
