I know there has been posts about the upperlink converted to hydrolic. I rember one where the piston was welded onto the cut off ends of the original link.
I would want to get a clevis end piston and do some welding on the ends to make it fit.
I searched the other night but couldnt find the posts. Does anyone have a recomendation for the diameter and legnth of the piston? Or maybe the person who made the posts? Even the words used to search would help
Thanks Allan

Ok have been looking around and found a cylinder in the Surplus Store.
I see that they have a drop in cylinder there that is made for this application. Its retracted legnth is 22" price of 199.99

They also have an identical cylinder without the there with swival eyes. its retracted legnth is 19.5" the same price.

I measured mine, and I surely need the extra inches in the retraction.
Any ideas on the cylinder without the swival?
Also anyone have a line of possible the weld on repair swival end eyes?
Thanks again
Allan

PS sorry for mispelling hydraulic. I should use the spell check LOL

Why don't you go to Carter & Carter ( www.ccmachinery.com ) and buy a top link that has the double pilot operated check valves. It will cost a lot less than that cylinder from Surplus Center and will work better too. CCM carries the most popular sizes. There are several hydraulic shops in NH that can do cylinder work for you.

I bought my parts from Surplus Center and built my own - got the 2 1/2" x 8" cylinder for $59, cut the ends off and got the weld-on swivel eyes from Tractor Supply for about $8 each and made the retracted length what I wanted to fit my tractor & implements, which was right at 16". I got the Prince double-piloted check valve from Surplus Center too - a little expensive, but works like a champ!! Could probably use a non-name brand valve and save money there. Be sure to move the piston in your cylinder away from the base when welding the swivel eye on the end of the cylinder - either by hand or gentle air pressure with your shop blowgun.
