Urgent hydraulic purchase needed. Replacement cylinder

Surplus Center has a similar cyl for $129. It has a clevis base, a swivel eye rod end, a 1.5" rod, 30" collapsed length 15 " stroke.

That, or something similar might be the ticket. It would be worth buying 2 and removing the other to have equal cylinders. However, the stroke length is important in this case in that it drops the blade AND empties the bucket.

But you have made me think. It might be faster to simply buy 2 new ones if the specs are adequate.

Look through their site, they have a good selection of cylinders and stroke limiters

I'm not exactly sure of the collapsed length.
Swivel eye on one side and clevis on the other. (This is the issue I am running into for a replacement. They seem to be built only with the same on both sides.)

Dalton Hydraulic - There are 6 units that meet the Bore / Stroke / Rod spec - none have the Clevis / Swivel combo you need.

Bailey Hydraulics was also another great suggestion.

My suggestion (and I'm not a Hydraulic guy either) would be
1) Call Bailey and/or Dalton and give them your exact needs and see what they say. If they can't get you an exact match then
2) Buy a new cylinder close to your needs as you can & have a local welding shop move the swivel end from the old cylinder to the new one.

As has been said before the words Fast & Cheap are usually only connected by the word Not.

Another option, get something like 3.5X28X1.75 DA HYD CYL | Double Acting Hydraulic Cylinders | Hydraulic Cylinders | Hydraulics | www.surpluscenter.com and have someone weld two pieces of flat stock to it to make the clevis "ears".

You are not far from Cincinnati. Hook Industrial Services does a lot cylinder repair. They are based out of Ft Wayne but they have a site in Cinci and a couple of others. They are reasonable and have lots of components on hand.

Definitely find a different shop. I have a shop in North GA with 2 mobile mechanics. For a cylinder like that you would expect $200 labor and roughly $35 in seals, but this is GA not KY.

The first thing I would do is write off the shop that gave me a $700 price for rebuilding a cylinder...as that is a lot if it isn't a specialty item. That is a price I would expect to see from a JD dealership, complete with the "golden" green paint! Like most of the others posting, I have a local shop that does my cylinders when I need them, and turn around time is usually 2 to 3 days, although I have had them done in a single day while I waited. The steer cylinders on my JD 2555 were $40 and the guy came to my house for the second one rather than me taking it off the tractor. (It amazed me that he remembered the seal size from the previous one six months earlier)
I got a price for repairing everyone of the cylinders on a detachable backhoe and all the rods needed replacing, and one is a special cylinder with a rack gear on it, and that was only $2000 for the complete job!
