used 1533

howdy - found a 1533 w/ 100hrs, looks new. I ran for about an hour & could not find anything wrong with it. dealer is asking $16,500, comes with 1525 FEL & 5' MF boxblade. previous owner traded in for MF451. 9 months left on warranty. Will try & swap BB for 7' rake

been looking at several other tractors, almost bought KAMA for the $$, but the MF dealer is very close and I'm not real comfortable working on tractor all the time (KAMA)

would use for 5 acre orange grove, 10 acre pasture - all in heavy sugar sand. Disc, mow, rake, ect..

any suggestions?

I've only had my 1540 w/ 1525 for a week but I put 8 hours on it last weekend all in deep sand with no problems. This weekend we'll see if the loader can lift my round bales; if not I may have a used 1540 with low hours for sale.

I got my 1533 8x8 trans for $18,750.00 new.

It came with a 1525 FEL, 6' Bush mower and 5' box blade for the money above.

I guess it is up to and what new cost where you live. Not sure if you have a good price or not, to me, it seems high, but I could be wrong.

Steve - I'm in Bartow/Lakeland. the MF dealer in lake wales & plant city have new 1533's around 15.5 - 16.5 w/out any attachments. sounds like you got a pretty good deal - where did you buy from?
The used 1533 looks & runs brand new. appears I would save around 1.5 - 2K but lose 100hrs. Guess its a toss up...

I am told the 1533 & 1540 have the same chasis/frame & engine, but the 1540 has the added turbo. if this is correct, I assume the weight would be almost the same?

BTY: the used 1533 is a synchro shuttle

Yes you are right about the 1540, only difference is the turbo, but you get around 33hp at the PTO with a 8x8 trans (gotta love the turbo).

I got my setup here in Brooksville at a place called "John Mason Tractor". The deal I got was "what they told me", they made 0 money on the tractor and made money on the other things (FEL, Mower, box blade), "Package Deal", I am sure MF had something going on at the time for the dealer, some type of kick back.

If you wish I can send you a PM with more info (Phone, person address) and I also I have a complete break down of what I have, I'll send that to you as well. I sent that info to someone else by PM (I think that person DID get a tractor from Mason as well).
