Used BRI-MAR dump

Well its not new but darn close. I bought this used from a man in Ohio. He kept the trailer in his garage and used it very little. Its BRI-MAR's light duty model but i think i will be fine for my use. Its rated for 10,000lbs. 15" 8ply load range D tires. I originally was looking for a new 7,000 lb unit for $3000 and load range c tires. I purchased this for $2800. I hope it was a good deal. I never called a BRI-MAR dealer to get a price.This unit was made in 2004 ,came with a new battery and spare tire.

I would say you stole it for that price in that condition. I have been looking to purchase either a Bri-Mar Rascal or the equal Downeaster model new and an getting quotes around $4000 in New England. then agains everything seems to be more expensive here.

First thing I'd do with it is remove the "RASCAL" decals.

Thats funny! Thats what my 9yr old said and the wife. It is powder coat paint. I dont really like powder coat. it flakes off and rust forms under the paint. Someday i will get it touched up and maybe get the RASCAL off it.

I bought a Bri-Mar demo 5000# model about 6 months ago for $2800. It had been used once or twice but never sold or titled. You stole a 10,000# model for the same price. Great deal.

The dump feature seems to work forever before the battery gets low. I used it behind my tractor for an entire weekend dumping 25-35 loads and the battery was still strong. Mine was built strong. Yours should be a beast.

You WILL bend/twist/warp the 2-way tailgate. That seems to be the only complaint from other Bri-Mar owners I have met. The tailgate is not built as strong as the rest of the trailer. Go figure.............

Sandblast the exterior and cover it with RHINO-Liner...

If you are really dissatisfied with the powder coat I'll offer you $2900 for the trailer...

I bought a used 6 ton Bri Mar trailer last year it is a heavier model twin cylinders and 16" tires and I paid $4500 You got a deal.

When I bought my 12K dumper the powder coat was one of the thing I considered a must have. My buddy has a non powder coated one and it rusted just by looking at it!
Did the previous owner even use that little "rascal" at all? It looks like it is new off the lot! I would say you got a steal for sure....

No Hyd brakes. The brakes are electric. The work very well. I actually used it Friday. I moved two loads of wood chip mulch. It worked very well. Only problem i see is when i pull the trailer with the tractor to load up with mulch i have no rear balast. I would never load dirt or gravel without balast but the mulch is very light. I could always make a trip back to the barn for weight.
I guess the powder coat paint is good for covering every nook and cranny but there are a few places i need to touch up. Not for vanity just to keep the thing from rusting. I think i will use equipment enamel.
