Kubota BX22-Cub 125
how much would a bx22 with only 75 hours in like new shape sell for? Looking for a quick sell.

It will have to sell for about 20% - 25% of the original cost. The determining factors are the new machine will come with a 3 year warranty and yours only has the balance of the 3 years. There is no warranty left on the loader or backhoe, since these have only a 1 year warranty. The new BX23 model will have the newer design loader valve which is quite desirable. Also, purchasers of new machines have the ability to get Kubota Credit, and depending on when they purchase, the rate can be as low as 0%. All these factors need to be taken into consideration. If the purchaser can't save a significant amount of money, then why purchase used? Selling a machine yourself, you will usually not get for a used Kubota what a Kubota dealership will, because the dealership is in a position to give a complete machine warranty which you as an individual can't.

Do you mean 20 - 25% off the original cost?, because that's where I saw the selling prices when I was looking for a used machine, and that's a big reason why I bought new (for the first time ever). I couldn't see paying 75 - 80% of new tractor prices for a used tractor, for many of the reasons you mentioned. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

If I was in the market for a little TLB, I'd jump on 13K! That's a great price for such a capable machine. I traded my BX2200 with loader and deck for 10K last Sept.

-Try to sell it on Ebay. If it doesn't go, then trade it if you are looking for some other Kubota tractor.

You might have gotten $10,000 for your BX2200 with loader and deck against the purchase of another tractor, however you need to know what type of discount you might have gotten on the new machine and deduct that amount from the $10,000 figure to know exactly how much you really received for your used equipment. It isn't possible for a dealer to pay retail value for used equipment and sell new equipment at a discount just to make the sale. If he did that, he wouldn't be in business for very long. When he sold the used unit, he wouldn't make any profit and would be loosing the possible sale of a new unit which he would be making a profit on.

Yes, I fully understand the basics of sales; been on both ends of the stick more than once. The trade price in my opinion was good compared to other quotes I had received, with and without a trade. I can't speak for my dealer or his motivations.

The point is, if he wants another machine it's worth shopping around for a good trade / cost combo. I talked to four dealers and had two come to my house to look at my BX and implements. -I don't even know if the guy wants another tractor; just saying that 13K for a machine in that condition would be a good deal if I was in the market for like kind buying privately.

If you finance 13000 used will cost about 2 to 4 thousand more than 15000 new because of the 0 percent financing on new.

Actually, it would work out about the same. Total payments on 13,000 for 36 mos at 9% would be about 14,900 for the used machine, versus 15,100 total payments for 36 mos (including the 100 UCC filing fee) at 0%.

Of course, if you finance for a longer term on the used, you will pay even more interest, but then it's not an apple-to-apples comparison anymore.
