I have a BX24 with about 102 hrs on her with a 60"MMM. Any thoughts of what is a realistic price to ask? moving and need a bigger tractor.

I would say roughly $50. when can I pick it up?

ok, seriously, I've been shopping for a used bx24 for a few month now, and they seem to be selling from between $11,500 (a crazy low price I know, with no midmount mower and a buy it now on Ebay) and $14,000. A lot of the price depends upon the hours, whether it has a MMM and the general condition. Location pays a part as well.

I found a used BX23 TLB w/MMM nearby for $12,900 that had about the same hours and was in great shape. I passed on it, since I really wanted the 24.

PM me if you decide to put it on the market, I'd be interested in talking to you about it more.

Good luck w/the new house/tractor!

Well, My Dealer said it is worth 15,000 to 16,000 to trade it in. on a new B3030 (discounted of course). He also said it should be able to bring around 14,000 to 14,500 selling outright? That sound right?

In my experience you usually get less by trading to a dealer than selling outright. Sounds like he's giving you a better price to trade than trying to sell yourself. Not sure I totally understand the math in that case, unless he's making it up by not discounting the 3030 enough?

The BX24 should be easy to sell privately. May I suggest that you contact several more Kubota dealers to get their lowest price on a B3030 without a trade-in. Expect to find even bigger discounts than the first dealer actually offered you.

I would never mess with selling a tractor like that privatly. Say your paying 6% sales tax on a new tractor, you sell your BX for $15,000. You'll now pay an extra $900 in TAXES on the new machine that you would save by trading it in. You'll be pretty hard pressed to get $900 more than what your dealer is offering, and even if you do its probably not worth the headache.

Neil, I found a huge difference in what I would be given in trade by different dealers, and at different times ( guess their cash flow enters into it). I sold my Bx22 for $4300.00 more than the most "conservative" dealer offered in trade, but actually about the same price as one dealer quoted. ( I included some attachments in the sale that the dealer didn't quote. The average dealer in this area quoted almost exactly the average between those extremes, so it really pays to ask around. All of the dealers are more interested in talking to me now that I have cash instead of a trade..... and all colors too.
