What vehicles have gotten lighter in subsequent generations?

Again, no hard data, but I can't imagine that a 350/3500 dually with a metal bed would weigh less than a newer model with fiberglass bed. I was actually shocked & even a bit angry when I saw a fairly new dually that had a broken fiberglass bed from the filler tube back through the wheel wells and all the way back to the gate. Guess my next dually will be without a bed - hopefully my '82 will out live me!

The Chinese are moving towards an electric motive system faster than the USA, where the oil companies are doing their best to prevent it.
Most tractors under 100 hp that use diesel fuel will be obsolete in ten years anyway, when it all goes electric, even in the backward US of A.
I'm just too old to wait around for it.

So that's why they are building so many coal fired plants? But I'm sure they are making "soot free" coal over there, right?

In 15 years or so, I won't be around to see it, but all the new sub-100hp tractors will be electric, and they will be relatively cheap compared to what we pay for new diesels now.
On cars, the original complicated and fuel mileage robbing stuff from the early anti-pollution stuff is long gone now, and in a few more years, say 20 or so, everything will be EVs anyway.
Like it or not, there are a lot of small tractors out there. I see them almost every time I go anywhere. The one dealer lot that had a ton of tractors this spring among the ones in the area that I visited was the MF dealer, who had a very full lot. That lot is almost empty now. The other ones have pretty much been almost empty right through.
In a world, of soon to be 8 Billion people and still growing, The internal combustion engine, along with all that fancy pollution stuff is already obsolete, and with good reason.
The gas pump is going the way of the iceman and the whale oil business.

I'm still waiting for my flying car that I was supposed to get 30 years ago.
