Muhammad,

Do you know what the average "growth" rate of new registered users is per month? The numbers sure seem to be increasing faster as of late or is it just my imagination?

Thanks...

Right now we get about least 125-150 new users per month... but in the spring it peaks at about 250-275 per month. Heading into the winter things do typically slow down in terms of new users.

I've been curious about the history of TBN. The how and why you chose to start it, amount of hours it takes to keep it up, the greatest hits, etc.
How does it feel to have the Best Site on the Net?/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Mutt,

I started the site in early 1998, as a Kubota discussion forum... one thing has led to another, and the small group of people on that forum years ago has grown and grown into what you see today. I started it simply because there was no other resource on Kubota tractors online, and I wanted all the info I could get! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

We've had several 200,000+ hit days, but the average is about 150,000 per day. Post record for one day is currently 332 as far as I know. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif It takes daily attention... lots of maintenance and upkeep, plus recently work on a new design and added features.

It's really become more than I originally could have hoped for, and I'm thrilled to see the great community that has developed over the years. We still have many members here that were around when the original forum opened, but I won't try to list them this time since I usually forget someone! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Today we've still got the same idea as day one... a place to gather and share tractor information and knowledge. Everything I've done with the site has been from a user's perspective, and hopefully that has helped build the site into what it is.

Muhammad, Except for the sale of your book how do you take care of the costs for running the site. Most places have an area to donate.

Technically, the site is owned by IMC Digital Universe, a web development company I'm a founder of. IMC is responsible for the costs that aren't met by the site's revenues... server costs, software, upgrades, maintenance, etc.

Great work Muhammad.

I was just going to post the question as to how it started when I found this.

I hope you/we can all keep it going free of charge and not "sell out"!!!

Cheers
