I'm considering buying a PTO concrete mixer. I'm looking at the Cosmo one sold by Tractor Supply which I believe is the same mixer sold under the First Choice name. I haven't seen the mixer in person yet. The description says "Empties clean and easy with the aid of a hydraulic cylinder (included). " Is this something that I need to connect to the tractor hydraulics or is it manually operated? If it does need to run off the tractor I don't have hydraulic connections on the rear of my MF1533, can I disconnect the loader hoses and run a longer hose over the rear of the tractor and use the loader joystick to operate it? Yes, you will have to use the tractor hyd.I used one to do a foundation for a garage many years ago.Shoveled over 2 1/2 tandem truck loads of gravel into it. If you are going to do a lot you should try to build a hopper that you can load with the FEL. Then just back under it.

We have lots of customers that do that. The feedback that we are getting is that the TSC models needed a special adapter that takes the metric hose end on the mixer to male 1/2 NPT. Without the special adapter, you cant splice or adapt to sae fittings and hoses--Ken Sweet

Hey, this thread is very timely. I have never once used my PTO, and just made a joke in another thread about getting some use out of it by getting a PTO cement mixer for making Margaritas and Pina Coladas - guaranteed to make your rig the "hit" of any party! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I understand a good "rule of thumb" is 30 PTO HP for every 100 people. Enjoy! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
