I hope I am not speaking out of turn, for pressing bearings the first thing you need is a set of bed or arbor plates long enough to go across your press. these need to be at least 1 inch thick and exactly the same size. they really need to be sized in a mill. 2 sets would be better 1 with vees cut into them. From there bearing splitters are also a must. Then you need what I call furniture, pieces of steel bar and pipe large and small to make up the difference under ram of press. These must be straight and parallel. The next thing you will need is a set of vee blocks and a dial indicator to check straightness. Another set of vee blocks to use under press ram is handy to straighten shafts. A lathe and a mill is great to make your accessories with or a very good friend with a machine shop.

Plus you'll build up good muscles lifting those bars!
