( Pure and simple off road fuel does NOT in any way shape or form stain or dye your fuel system in the slightest. Once it goes through your tank CONTRARY to urban legend they would not know if you had red fuel or not. All they go by is what is in your tank right now. They dip the tank and if it is red you have a problem. If it isn't red you have no problem at all. They don't go pulling filters and fuel lines. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif )

I dont know if I totally agree with that.. I have pulled fuel filters out that had clean on road fuel in the housing, but the aluminum housing itself was discolored by dye(red tint).. As far as how long it lasts, I have no idea..

I'm not saying you're wrong Greg but we have trucks on the ranch that are 10-20 years old and have had nothing but red fuel in them for the most part and they show no sign of red dye anywhere in the filter housing.

Also running red fuel is not illegal as long as you pay the taxes. We run red fuel in most of the trucks on the ranch. Most of them never leave so it isn't an issue. When we do we have to keep track of mileage and destinations and turn in the tax to the state and feds. It's only illegal if you run on the road without a permit and without paying the taxes.

Yea, I'm not trying to get too deep in this one, some of you guys have much more experience with this than I do, I've just seen some indicators before, so I'm not so sure that its a good blanket statement..
