Pine makes fine construction lumber and decent siding too and .25/ft. is pretty cheap, I won't mill a log that cheaply...

.25 is what I pay also. He has a circular mill so can probably saw faster, but you lose a lot more wood as sawdust. For low value wood like pine the loss isn't a big deal, but if I had a high value hardwood I would prefer the overrun that a bandsaw can produce.
