I have a three point log splitter that I built. It is crude and rude but beats swinging a sledge and wedge. I used it on my old tractor since that was sold I have not used it. my tc 40 does not have rear remotes I know it would be a pain but if I bungee the control valve in a open postion and hook the log splitter up to the loader remotes will that work. the splitter control is open center. I know it sounds like a weird set up but I can't afford the rear remote kit at this point so until I add it on I thought this might be cheaper way to go I would only need longer hoses

any thoughts
thanks

I think a "Power Beyond" is what you need. Not sure on the NH details as for price, but it shouldn't be too bad a price. Probably want to ask a guy well versed in NH hydraulics.

This would save pushing all that fluid through the control valve all the time.

I bought a 3-pt splitter in December and hook it up to my loader connections. Lucky for me the splitter can stand alone so I just pull up alongside the splitter and swap the hoses.

When I enquired about rear hook-up, my dealer asked what was wrong with bungeeing the controller. I didn't have a good answer for him.

I've split about 3 cords of wood in 6 sessions and am looking for plans to build a back massager that'll run off the PTO!

Look at it this way, when adding rear power-beyond to an open-center system, the fluid is still all flowing through the loader control valve. Its just taking a slightly different path through the power beyond port instead of the loader work port.

This flow will likely have similar pressure drop and no appreciable difference in wear and tear on the loader valve regardless of which path it goes through.

It will work. I've seen it many times and the fel valve doesn't know the difference of wether t the load is a log or bucketful of dirt. You only ned power beyond if you aren't going to bungee handle and supply downstream load through out port of fel valve. Happy splitting.

My Mahindra 2015 has a 3 pt. Wallenstein splitter with long hoses and its own valve attached, when using, I just change hoses on FEL and away I go, the Fel and splitter both work at once.. JohnJ
