Speaking of drivers, this sounds like maybe one of those freelance AMZ guys .......

Florida deputies searching for deliveryman caught on video stealing back package he dropped off
Fox News|28 minutes ago
Deputies in Florida are searching for a deliveryman who was spotted on a home security camera dropping off a package and snapping a photo to confirm its arrival before stealing the parcel back. The unidentified driver delivered the package on Thursday to a home in Davenport, located about 35 miles south of Orlando, the Polk County Sheriff's ...

You hope!
Heck one time I tracked my parcel for more than a week riding around in the delivery truck marked 'out for delivery'.
Lazy driver!
I had one shipped fedex smart post from Ohio to Arkansas. Some little part for my dishwasher. Checked tracking on it and saw that it hit Mississippi. So I figured I would have the part in two days at the latest.

3 days later and it still wasn't here

Checked tracking and my part was diverted to Tampa Fl. Part had a week long vacation in Florida then got shipped back to the same depot in Mississippi. That's when I decided smart post wasn't very smart.

FedEx driver kept cleaning out the latch open post for the gate on a dumpster enclosure at work. For some reason the driver couldn't just pull up to the curb. He had to pull up, straddle the sidewalk and back across the lawn to get to pass door. Instead of walking the 5ft.

Work was upset but couldn't get fedex to do anything. They had me replace the post since it got for a third time.

Well I replaced it with a 4" scheduled 40 galvanized post. And then filled said post to the top with concrete :D I conveniently measured the driver's bumper since while I was digging the hole, since the jack wagon backed right through the spot I was working in making me have to get out of the way real fast while he did his delivery and breaking the handle on my shovel in the process when he ran over it. :hissyfit:

The next day I hooked the fedex truck on that latch post. :cool2: Latch post was wrapped in reflective tape, and had a sign attached to it saying stay off the grass.

FedEx management had to get involved at that point since the truck was hung, and we called the police. fedex had to get the bumper lifted over the post. And then was handed a bill for all the repairs, and damages their driver did to the property over the past month. With some pictures I had snapped the day before of the truck parked in my active work area, complete with my shovel sticking out from under the driver's tire. :D

Thing people forget is that a truck/delivery driver MAKES the company they work for.

I started off driving 16' - 24' box trucks over 25 years ago because I was asked if I could, and I said, "well, I can learn...". I always considered myself a "nice driver", did what the "customer" told me to do, never complained, and I worked my way up from there.

You hit something of a customers, you report it, the company you work for pays for it. This is almost a no brainer for daily commercial accounts IMO.

Bigger thing now is the outfitting the trucks (of all sizes) with cameras. Generally video doesn't lie.

I agree that UPS is very good. My gripe with the post office is their short hours, then completely close for one hour at lunch.

I do not think they close for lunch here, neither large ones or small rural ones

Our Post Office is in a town of ~650 people and closes for lunch. Basically you only have the Postmistress and one non-carrier employee to staff the counter and do the inside duties. I also tried to call one day and could not get through for quite a while. It turns out that the Postmistress was on a conference call using the only phone line for a couple of hours.

Funny, I was driving home from breakfast this morning, and had a Fed X truck blow right through a stop sign. Not a "rolling stop", probably was doing 30-40 miles and hour going through the intersection.

My neighbor had a delivery (box trucking company) drop off a large package and the guy was running behind schedule. I share a 1000 ft drive way with the neighbors house. The guy was having trouble figuring where to turn around since I had most my vehicles out in my driveway which doubles as a turn around. He came to the door and asked me if he could drive on my lawn. I told him, no the ground is soft and that I would move vehicles for him. Before I could move the second vehicle he was on my lawn, backing off of it and his bumper was headed towards my shop. He smashed a galvanized water tub, ran over my dog poop scooper and knocked my crab boat off its trailer. He was all in a huff and told me he could not wait. I decided not to file a claim but I probably should have so they get a track record on the driver. Just the tub and the scooper were damaged.

USPS, UPS and Fedex all do a good job.

I placed an order on Dec. 16, it was shipped via FedEx from Ashland, Va to Hagerstown, Md, then to Martinsburg, WV, then to Concord, NC by Dec. 19. The package sat on Concord, NC until yesterday, Dec. 24, then went to Kernersville, NC, where it is still sitting. I live in Elliston, Va, which is about 25 miles Southwest of Roanoke. The package would have passed the Roanoke FedEx hub on it's way to Concord, NC. This is typical of any FedEx delivery.
