Hello all, My 50 year old UTB Universal 445DT has inoperative rear hydraulics. For the past 45 years the rear lifter has only been used once or twice per year and now does not lift at all. I have determined that the hydraulic pump at the engine is working normally and there is plenty of fluid showing on the dipstick near the gear lever. The seat has been removed and the large plug on the hydraulic mechanism removed. I can see that there is no fluid in there which might not be surprising because there is evidence of a seep around this area.
My question is - does the absence of hydraulic fluid indicate that there is a blockage or does this area need topping up separately from the gearbox?
