What are your plans for the trailer? Do you have any future plans (like owning a larger lawn mower, small tractor, or side by side UTV)? I have a 4x6 steel mesh trailer with a drop down rear gate that I inherited from my father. It's smaller than I would buy but it does come in handy so I've never thought about selling it. I modified it so the rear gate can easily be removed so you can put things up to about 10' long on it. What I would say is the 10' long trailer will give you the ability to move things around a bit to get the right amount of weight on the tow vehicle.
I plan to move some plywood, concrete bags, lumber, landscape trees and other similar items.
After these replies I think I would go with a 5x10 trailer. I found some that weight around 750lbs. An all aluminum trailer would be nice (400 lbs) but they cost almost DOUBLE that of a steel trailer.
