Harbor Freight has two 4 x 8 trailers, one rated for 1200 lbs ($349) and the other for 1700 lbs. ($449). No sides, but you can custom build whatever you want there.

Both look like they're right at the 64" width though.

Something like this?

It might just be easier to learn to drive focused on where the rear (rear-est) are tracking. This is something people should do even if they’re not towing a trailer, and are just pulling into parking spaces, garages, around bollards etc…. The purpose of steering the front tires is to steer the back tires.
Good find. That cart may possibly work (horrible reviews on the tires). width is acceptable. Double axle usually only has minimal tongue weight.
I am a good, safe driver. My slopes are steep. Instead of focusing on where the rear-est tires are tracking I really focus on making sure #1400 load does not push me down a slope on an angle or push my rear tires out to the side which could create a VERY unsafe issue. Another reason I was kind of leaning toward a single axle so I have some tongue weight.

Like it and can build out whatever I want. Alot of good reviews,..but also many "don't ever buy this trailer" reviews. Folding, never seen that previously!,...I need to get out more. HF just opened locally so may go and check out.

I abandoned the folding bits on mine years ago. Used a single 4 x 8 sheet of plywood. I've moved many, many thousands of pounds over the 30 years I've had it.

Deck and sides have been replaced a few times since it sits out on the weather full time. Wheel bearings have been replaced twice, tires once or twice. But the steel, hitch and other main parts are still solid.

My apologies, re-reading my “learn to drive” comment, I sound like an ***hole.
“Steering the back tires” was something I always stressed to my kids when they where learning to drive. If you look at all the cars on the road that have a nice sideswipe down the side, or how every business with a drive through has a banged up bollard post with multiple paint samples on it, or how every corner curb has rubber tire marks on it, I sometimes get the sense that most people have no clue that their back tires track to the inside on a turn.

first read it did come across heading in that direction. But i kept reading it and realized it was not. (y)

You said "most people have not clue that their back tire track to the inside on a turn" ABSOLUTELY AGREE, YES!!!

Kids spend a good amount of time in cars, they should be taught to understand how their rear tires track.

IMHO, trying to back a trailer that has a wheel at each corner is harder than backing a normal trailer arrangement. (Like a hay wagon vs a boat trailer)

yep. In my OP, the preference was for a single axle for a couple of reasons.

TY. (y)

HF opened a new store about 9 miles distant. I walk in, Manager standing there, 'how can i help you?'. I explain that I need to see the 4x8 folding trailer.
'Sorry, we no longer carry those in PA. Something about the title and road use.' ( I knew exactly to what he was referring and its not the title. Its the enhanced inspection and application for a VIN).

Give me a break!! ☹️ Would have really liked to see one. Next HF store is 40+ miles. Guess its not gonna be a HF unit.
