Was going to mention too.....we al get broken windshields in our automobiles, but I have yet to have any of my friends get a stone chip or break the glass windshield in their UTV's. So I wouldn't be paranoid about glass.
So what glass windshield did you use: Off the shelf or make your own fromGlass is the only way to go. Even the hard coated lexan go crappy after a while. You're better off not wasting a big chunk of money on lexan, and spend a bigger chunk of money on glass and be happy for years to come.
I have the cabbed Kubota, so it came with glass and a wiper/washer. But my friends have turbo 1000 Can Am's and Polaris's and they all got glass from the dealers. They have all tried the hard coated and said after a while they still scratch and discolour in the sun. So they replaced them all with glass with wipers. So what glass windshield did you use: Off the shelf or make your own from tempered glass?
If you make your own, DO NOT buy tempered glass unless it's precut to size. You can not cut tempered glass. I wouldn't use that any way--Use "safety glass". That's what's used in the auto industry. Safety glass is two layers of glass with clear vinyl in between the layers. If a rock hits it, it just chips or cracks. It doesn't shatter like tempered glass. So what glass windshield did you use: Off the shelf or make your own from tempered glass?
Fixed. I was "planning" to go to a windshield place to buy a piece of pre-cut, so I would hope they'd give me the right stuff. If you make your own, DO NOT buy tempered glass unless it's precut to size.
