Even with my CUTs, I mounted the plow on the loader arms for that reason, to rapidly pile snow high and to push back piles. The negative was, since I did not have quick attach on the loader, the plow stayed on the loader for 5 months of the year so no bucket for 5 months of the year. With the PT, I take the plow off after each use so that I have more room in the barn.

For those that do not look at the web link, here's another picture (that pile is over 6' high and I am now adding almost 2' to it):

A fearsome machine. Great build and design, and many thanks for sharing the photos. It looks even better than I imagined.

All the best,

Peter

Just don't call it formidable!

Do you have any relief valve on the plow cyl in case you hit something?

There are springs on the plow that take a lot of the abuse. I have never seen a plow that flops around like this one. Going down the road, it is bouncing around by about 12". There is no added pressure relief - I have just hooked up to the hydraulic circuits of the PT with all of my plows for the last 6 (?) years without any known issues. I certainly have hit logs that were buried in frozen drifts. FWIIW, I bought a Curtis setup for one of my CUTs and it did not have a pressure relief. But I can imagine there are some interesting pressure spikes when hitting something.

Ken... So do you run singles all the time? Do you get better traction you think? I run dualies all the time with chains full time on the outside and it while slopes are conquerable not sure I am getting the best traction. Very floaty...

Dualies are nice for floating on mud or snow but not as great for traction on ice. In my opinion, the singles with chains are better than the dualies with chains - greater psi. But I have used your setup most years because of the limited chain clearance with singles and it is very nice to be able to have one wheel hanging out into space over a ditch and still be safe. I use your setup also during the summer because it is better for mud.
