I bought this engine on e-bay (Buy it Now) because the price was REALLY good and it was only 20 miles away. The seller knew nothing about it, but my guess is that it is brand new.It is on a factory shipping stand, the exhaust manifold nuts appear to have never been tightened and it has paper tags wired to it.I would like to know what tractors(or other equipment) used this engine so I can keep an eye out for one needing one. Thanks from a new guy.

The 1505 engine is used on a B2910 and B3030. The "e" probably means some kind of option. First letter in a B3030 engine is a "e".
A dealer should be able to help with the letters.

Thanks for the info.I believe the "e" refers to the industrial emissions level.

And the B7800.

"E" in Kubota speak means "environmental" which is the description used for the environmentally friendly nature of the "E-TVCS" or "Environmental Three Vorteces Combustion System.

It is a precup arrangement with three zip tubes that are created by notches in the precup in the head. The fire follows the notches into the main area of the combustion chamber, as it explodes when burning.

For the unitiated, a pre cup (about the size of a golf ball) is where the fuel is first injected and a the burn begins, then it blows out into the main part of the combustion chamber. Same area where the glow plugs insert. The pre cup allows for good fuel economy and complete burn at various levels of fuel delivery and power requirements.

By the way the Japanese use the German designation for the number of cylinders as the first digit - 1 = E = ein, 2 = Z = zwei, 3 = D= drei, 4 = V= veir, 5 = F = funf and 6 = S = sechs. The 1505 indicates the nominal displacement and is not always to the exact displacement in cc but close. The suffix (B2 = SAE bellhousing) describes what accessories the engine has as a lot of Kubota engines are used in OEM applications as well as Kubota products.

Now you know

Good info.Speaking of SAE; do the tractors use a common Sae size, say SAE 4?
This would greatly expand the number of tractors this could be adapted to.

If you are asking about the hydraulic fittings, unfortunately no. They use a mixed bag of lines and hoses from several different types BSP. SAE and JIS on some.

Actually, I was thinking of the bell housing (flywheel cover).Your answer does indicate added layers of complexity in swapping this thing into anything else.Thanks.
