Very nice! I've been wanting to hook up an auger on mine. I guess everything went well? How rocky is your soil?

Works a heck of alot better than my old tractor based auger. Soil is rocky in parts for top 6 in, but mostly sand/clay.

next machine I get will be one of these,

Does anyone know if Bobcat guarantees the boom for lifetime (ie lifetime warranty). I know JCB guarantees their PowerBoom on the loaders for life. My main reservation with this type of machine for a bunch of ground engaging stuff is that it might bend. It isn't supported against the frame like a skid steer with the arms all the way down.

I think all of the compact telehandlers are designed for ground engaging attachments. I haven't checked the Bobcat V519 boom warranty, all I know is that I have stressed the booms to the max on a V518 and V417, with no problems.

The V518 bucket is 7.5 feet wide, 1.25 cubic yard capacity:

With the boom fully extended, have lifted the rear wheels off the ground many times.

The V417 bucket is 6 feet wide, 1 cubic yard capacity:

Have also lifted the rear wheels off the ground many times on it.

Same here, have done a bunch of ground engaging tasks and haven't ever had anything go wrong. Even sideways forces on the boom don't seem to matter. You shouldn't be worried about it bending. Thing is that the powerboom is practical, but from a physics standpoint is the worst setup you can have (because it is massively offset from the center). This means the powerboom is much more likely to have these kinds of problems. There used to be a video ( from JCB) where it was shown lifting and you could see a huge amount of slant in the boom. JCB later removed that video, probably because alot of people noticed the slant and they obviously didn't want that.
