DH- thx

Guys, Here are some pix. This thing is as you have all said- great. Other than faded paint, thing is a beast-and the 3320 for sure is on the small side for this chipper. A 3" piece will stall the tractor if you don't back out of it. But as I said previously, 3" to me is FIREWOOD. Nothing like "Mass in Motion" and that 220 lb flywheel makes this thing hum.

Looks really good, Bro...

I'm surprised a 3" piece would even come close to stalling your 3320...unless it's really dried out hardwood. My old 790 (24 PTO HP) and Woods 5000 chipper could easily devour a 3" piece...even 5" wouldn't stall it (maybe bog it down though).
I'm thinking you need to get your chipper blades sharpened...dull blades really increase the HP requirements.

I agree with Roy on this one. The blades must be dull or old dry wood. Your 3320 should run that chipper to capacity without stalling.

Matt:thumbsup:

Guys,

Maybe I'm a little too timid. I'd sense a drop in RPM and pull the log out. The blades are sharp. Practice makes perfect.

There's enough tilt on the hopper to let it self feed...just put a length of 3"-4" branch or small trunk and walk away...see how it does.
I stay close enough to the tractor in case anything jams up (dried out hardwood is good for this) so I can shut the PTO off, if necessary.

When I write "length", for me, that's a branch or trunk 8 to 10 feet long. I cut them that length for ease of handling.

UPdate guys. I put the Valby in the pick up and took it over to my son's house. He has a 2520 which has I believe 20.5 PTO HP. thing did a good job-2" no problem. Thx again for all the feedback on the Valby before I bought it- good choice!
