valve help

i need help i have a valve that a wanted to run a cylinder on it is a double acting one function but it has 6 ports so i blocked the two extra on the top and had the pressure in/ out on the side. i hooked it up to the cylinder nothing happened so i disconnected the hoses put them in buckets and fluid came out of both hoses so is this a motor spool or is it broken???

There is no way to tell how that valve is configured from your small picture, or even a large one for that matter. Whether it's a motor spool, or DA or SA spool is all internal to the valve.

This is the problem when getting used valves or "deals" of of eBay-you never know what you have. There are no numbers on this?

I blew it up to 400%, it was distorted but, I think it is a joystick for a loader.
