I read thru the thread and still not sure what the op is trying to accomplish. My question is, why not just find a old zero turn and us it. Throw away the mowing deck, add some wheels to the front to run his tracks over, put a cab on it and your done. You can lengthen the frame is it isnt long enough and it would weigh under the 2500 lbs the OPHis looking for.

Hi Muddstopper: Thanks for your suggestion but I need a 2 person, closed in cab with heat and for it to travel at the very least 20-25mph....one of my fishing spots is about 17 miles away. Tractors usually are limited to much slower speeds and that's with and input of 3600rpm.. I am looking seriously at a tandem set of pumps and have been in contact with Hydrogear who are coming up with some advice and a price for me. Using this arrangement would eliminate a lot of plumbing and extra valving. Also, while z-turn is not necessary, it's an interesting option.
Thanks again

Muddstopper: I did mean to mention that I have looked into some vehicles on the market that could serve my needs and the closest I came to finding something is the Argo 3x3 or the 4x4, with tracks. Of course I would have to make a lot of modifications but the speed is fine....over 20mph.
Talking to some owners about them I learned that they are amazing in muddy rough terrain but not particularly good in really deep snow....heavy for the width of the track and little ground clearance.
I couldn’t find any for sale in my neck of the woods to go and look at.
Anyway I need a DIY project.

To me, it痴 a brand new wheel.
If you can稚 be helpfull perhaps you should not respond to these threads.
You are not being nice.

No, he was being very helpful by telling you good advice about NOT doing something with a high likelihood of being dangerous.

Being nice doesn稚 convince mechanical things to work differently

Are you here to learn answers to your questions about making your machine work, or just want people to stroke your ego ?

That said, DO NOT USE BALLVALVES TO CONTROL WHAT IS BASICALLY A PROPEL/STEERING FUNCTION.

This isn稚 water in your house we are talking about

Under pressure you get a Venturi effect on the ball valve that wants to suck it all the way closed sometimes. You could kill someone.

Don稚 make it dangerous just to be cheap

Use a two spool manual control valve. Don稚 rely on the valve closing as your 澱rake? If a hose blows you値l have no way of stopping this th8ng.

Argo is one but their machine is not so user friendly. Mudd Ox is an American company that makes them also, Matt over there collects and services the old Terra Tigers and lots of other old 6x6 vehicles from the 60’s onward. He’s actually selling off surplus vehicles from their museum and he might have what you need
