Valve Stem Brush Covers??

Hi All,

I have been helped immensely since coming to the forum and ask for some more help. I got my 7800 about two weeks ago and so far have been impressed. But, I just noticed I don't have valve stem brush covers on the rims. I could have sworn I saw them on the 7800 on the lot. Are these standard? Before I go deep in the woods I want to get them on since I have loaded back tires and would hat to lose the Calcium Chloride and get a flat. Thoughts? If they aren't standard can I get someone to tack weld them with the tires on the rims or would a good epoxy do?

It depends on which tire combination you got on your unit. If you get R4's then the valve guards come on the rims. If you get turfs or ag tires, they dont. You could make your own out of 3/4" X 1/16" flat stock, but you'd have to weld them on. I believe the guards only come on the front rims, not the rear anyway. The front valve stems are pretty close to the edge of the rim, the rears are inset. my 5030 has them on the front only. I hope you put tubes in your tires before chloriding them, the chloride will destroy the rims over time.

Thanks Daryl, it's Sunday you should be in bed. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif My wheels do have tubes. The dealer filled the tires before I took delivery. I didn't realize it depended on tire selection. I think I will ask my welder-neighbor friend to help me out. Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

I'd like to be in bed but I have to go out and work on haying implements. I'm in the process of re-doing our old J.D. rake...one more universal to put in. We have about 200 acres of hay to bale in the next few weeks. Thank goodness it's all going to be round baled. Look at my signature, you will understand.
