I have paid for a Betstco FH-AGF140 verge ditch & bank flail mower. I ain't got it yet, but I am trying to understand the 2 handle hydraulic float controller ($575.00 extra) that I bought with it. I was told to buy it in order for the mower to operate as it should.
What does the controller do and how does it do it? Where will it mount?
When I bought I was given another choice (on the web site) and it was "non-controller" ($400.00 extra). There was $175.00 difference in the cost.
What does the non-controller do and how does it work?
I ordered and paid for this on Thursday, January 4, 2024. I ain't heard nothing from them since and they don't answer the phone this morning.
Any explanation will be appreciated, thanks.

So your tractor doesn't have any rear hydraulic remotes? Sounds like a kit to tap into the tractor hydraulics, and you would need to plumb it and mount the valves. I have no experience with plumbing hydraulics.

Pull up and cancel the order!!! You need help with your mule to use a boom mower
with the correct hydraulics.

The ditch mower has two cylinders, so it requires the tractor has two spool rear hydraulics supply. If your tractor only has one spool rear hydraulics, then you need something like below.

There are two kinds of solution, electric remote control and hydraulic control.
The hydraulic control solution is cheaper but not convenient, you need to think about where to install it on your tractor, and you need turn back and reach the handle to operate it.
The electric solution is more convenient but more expensive.

here is the link for the hydraulic control

and here is the link for the electric remote control

You can find both of them easily on internet.

Mule,
Does your tractor have any rear remote hydraulic connections?

Yes it does. My dealer connected to it in order to operate the grapple without a third function kit. He did this at no extra charge when I bought the tractor and grapple. It is a 2022 Mahindra 5145.

In that case I suspect the 2 valve float control is the valve assembly required to operate the ditch mower. Suspect one section has float feature to allow mower to follow contour of ground same as float on your loader.

Question is now how do you connect this new valve to your system.

Yes, and still be able to use the grapple while being able to use the mower.

It will have to be plumbed in series with your existing valves or if not using rear remote might be able to use that valve to power the new valve similar to a 3 point log splitter.

Would need to know existing tractor circuit or schematic plus schematic of new float valve. This info would then aide in determining how to connect the new valve.

UPDATE!
The mower arrived to my place January 25, 2024. The crate and contents are in perfect condition. The weather slowed FedEx down, but, they kept pointed my way.
In a day or so I will have a better idea of what has to be done to make the float system operate as it should. I may have more questions.
Thanks
