Grapple Very Dissapointed with MIllonzi Grapple

I have never dealt with Millonzi but I do agree with everybody else on here that if they are going to say they can build something and don't have pre-made fitting mules then they need to try it on a machine before they sell it. W.R Long is by far the best aftermarket grapple/bucket company we have dealt with. W.R Long takes the time to make high quality 3rd function EH valves for these loaders...they are going to get the mounts right!!

I agree IslandTractor, but some of those issues could be solved if the FEL came from the factory with a QA - no real reason why that system should weigh much more than the pin ons in that case.

Even with the QA downsides I still think the SS QA is worth it by the way, for anyone reading this who is unfamiliar. Switching between forks, grapple, and bucket is a joke its so easy. Literally 30 seconds to pop something on or off.

I had an SS QA on a previous tractor and I didn't like it as much as the JD system on my 3720. The JD is more open so it has better visibility. This is nice when I don't have a buck on or am using my forks. It is so easy to pop off buckets that I remove them almost every time I put the tractor back in the shed. Just so that I have more room inside. Maybe there are better designed SS QA systems though. The one I had was a solid plate.

My grapple fit, but wouldn't curl down far enough to dump anything. They offered to fix it, but I fixed it myself and sent them the specs. They did refund some of my money, so I can't complain.

Its just this kind of thing that made me send mine back and not have it fixed. When talking to them about the problem their solution was to have me take more measurements that were not metric and have them guess at it again. I just don't have time for that sort of thing.

I basically agree with you Charles but the question remains, how is it that ATI manages to make pin mounts that fit all sorts of different FEL pin mounts(the Tach All for example) while Millonzi seems to have trouble getting that right. My wild *** guess is that Millonzi is doing them as one off custom fabrications and does not have a series of standard templates or engineering diagram based measurements. It seems they are relying on field measurements which is a very inexact science.....

I'll be more blunt - It's the difference between an engineer & a fabricator. The engineer "does it in his head" - ie. can visualize how it will come together based on drawings or other information. The fabricator uses his hands.

Each has their purpose - without fabricators, an engineer's ideas would never come to fruition. Also with all the pieces in front of him, the fabricator will be using the grapple while the engineer is still making drawings on the computer. The difference comes in the second or third etc. article - then the added time spent "engineering" the solution pays off.

The best engineers and fabricators have a good understanding of the other's role. I see far too many engineers who have absolutely no understanding what it takes to build something. (a failure in their education & training if you ask me).

I went with the Borford Mfg Bodozer and was delighted at the product. Very well built, great design, greasable pins and fit and finish was super. The JD QA is simple and tough. I stayed with it.

Sorry I misspelled. I think there reason why alot don't buy from them is price. But like anything you get what you pay for. I've had no issue with this grapple and its on a JD5400. The smalls CUTs should have no problem and Dale will make them to suite anyones needs.

I have the WR Long valve kit and a bucket grapple from Tatro. I agree with the previous poster about the quality of WR Long products and their support-A1:)

I am on their e-mail list and recieved a notice about this new product. I wish they had this available when I bought my buckert grapple. I think they started at $1100 for the 48" model.

That borgford is nice looking, I can see some advantages to that design. Some disadvantages too. Sort of thing that could lead to some crazy person owning multiple grapples for different things. :D

I don't think I'm that crazy. I think. :p

(I think the borgford would do better as a root rake, but not as good for moving logs and split firewood and such)

On the Millonzi front - I think it bears noting that they did stand behind their products when there were problems, and the company deserves credit for that.
