That seems to not say great things about Methanol/water mix either. Although I think one of the biggest problems with Ethylene glycol is that it is sweet and tends to attract critters. Not sure if this is the case with Methanol.

Methanol mix is not an issue unless you drink it. Doesn't harm plants and disappears into the ground rapidly. We spray millions of gallons all over our highways every year without serious issues.

Propylene Glycol is far from "non-toxic", it's only safer than ethylene glycol.
It is 3 times less toxic in dogs, but not non-toxic. "Safe" is more a marketing thing. Antifreeze Toxicoses

there's pg in lots of stuff.. toothpaste and mouth wash.

as long as you aren't drinking the stuff from a fountain.. it's safe.

and why you might ask is it in mouth wash and toothpaste and other stuff that goes nto our bodies?

because it's usually cheaper than glycerine.. but works about the same.. ;)

Well it is not too bad:

no clinical signs
were seen when a dog was given an acute dose of 20 ml/kg.

so a approx 44lb dog would be given a 400ML dose with no clinical signs,? that is almost a pint of fluid, a pretty good drink, not just lapping up a few drops.

pg is approved as a FOOD ADDATIVE>

it's not as evil as you think.

in fact.. you may want to look thru bottles of medicine at your home and other products like cosmetis.

you may be consuming more than you think.

like I said. it's an approved FOOD addative.

not a 'kill you dead in 1 drop' poison as some here make it out to be .. sheesh..

plenty of real stuff to worry about without worrying about the exagerated stuff.. :(

Then the next question would be, if they gave a 44 lb dog 400Ml. and saw no clinical signs, just HOW much would they have had to give him to see some signs.? or maybe he had a tummy ache.. after all they probably did not ask him:laughing: I don't think the PG is going to be much of a problem for your pet's. The stuff I used looked just like strawberry soda.. maybe it was:laughing:

Kinda like a couple of years back when I posted about methanol mixed with water for tire ballast. Had a good many post that the tires could explode. LOL That went on and on till others posted they used it too and was common from here down south and west too. We started filling tires with the methanol water mix in the late 70's. Never seen one burn or blow up. LOL Heck it doesn't even kill the grass. Can't think of anything that's lower in cost that will not freeze and is safe to use.
