Very weird problem....maybe a coincidence???

Same thing here with my 2544. If you stop anywhere over green grass for more than a minute or so after she's HOT. You will get a rectangular scortch mark right below where the muffler/exhaust was.

My last Cub did the same thing it was a 1515. The exhaust gets wicked hot and the heat shield radiates the heat down.

i think i might have a solution to find the culprit. get you a large piece of cardboard like what big freezers come in or something that will go under the tractor from the rear wheels to just forward of the front tires. when you get ready to stop it just pull it onto the cardboard and watch what happens. it if is the muffler or something like that it will make the cardboard look burned in that area. if it is an oil leak it will show on the cardboard.

I've had my GT 2544 for about three weeks and its doing the same thing, it's definitely from the exhaust.
