Vicon Vari Spreader

I have read that the Vicon Vari Spreaders are one of the better fertilizer/seed spreaders. Are Vicon Vari Spreaders really better than say my Befco spreader? I am looking for an accurate spreader for a blend of pasture seed (grass & clover) and fertilizer for fall and spring use.

If by vari spreader you mean their pendulum spreader,
its the best type as there is no waste or over spreading
with the adjustment of the pendulum stroke and
baffle plates if baffle plates are purchased as an accessory.

You can purchase cone attachments for the tube to securely spread
many materials left and right along borders and water ways as well.

The model I am looking at is the PS402.

Thats the smallest one in the line if I remember correctly.

Like a good flailmower that pendulum spreader will be a
forever machine you can use in winter to spread salt
and sand with too.

Thanks for the info Leonz. I was told 400 liter capacity. Not sure how many pounds of fertilizer that is. Right now I am using a Befco 203 which has a 226lb capacity. I am sure 400 liters is larger than my Befco.

I just got back with my new to me Vicon PS 402 spreader. It is larger than I thought. It holds up to 750kg (1650lbs) of fertilizer. This is a real nice spreader. Anyone looking for a used Befco 203?

Did the unit come with a screen to segregate
the lumps to prevent clogging the passageway
to the spout?

It came with the original bill of sale and manual. No screen and I did not see one listed in the manual. It has not been used for 5-6 years. BTW, leonz, thanks for the info on this spreader. Wife says I must now sell something before I bring anything new home.
