I wonder if the owner of the roofing company pissed off his workers, was paying them weekly and this was retribution (problems left to be discovered after they were paid). How could someone not know?

Easy...homeowner could have done the job. All the DIY shows on TV have been a detriment to the trades, everyone thinks its easy.

Why does everyone assume it was a contractor that butchered it? It could just as easily be argued that this is proof that homeowners shouldn't be allowed to work on their own houses and a Pro MUST be called for everything.

I am not a roofer. I'm a Licensed Carpenter and can't count how many times I've been called to fix homeowner hack jobs....WAY more than fixing other contractor's work.
