I just wanted to post something since nothing has been posted in a while. You know it's been a rough time being around all this crap. But you know. I asked my friend why us? Why Virginia Tech. And you know he said, Because no other place in the US could deal with a tragedy such as this like we can. We have the spirit and the unity to get through anything. If you all have noticed by the news and what not. After any hard times we had..the convocation, the candlelight vigil, or even the bell ringing one week later; everytime once it all ended we began our LETS GO HOKIES cheer. That just shows the spirit we have to get through this as one big family. And you know I thought about what he said and it is completely true. The fact that yes, we will never forget, many of us went out and got memorial tattoos and what not; but we want to move on.
That first day coming back to classes was hard, but you know we needed our teachers just as much as they needed us. It helped to start the healing process. I will still shed a tear hearing about it, or walking around the memorials at school. But the only thing to do is move on. Watching the commencment ceremony was heartbreaking, but nice at the same time.
No matter what people need not to be scared to come to Tech, but be thankful they've gotten a chance to go there. It is the best place on earth. I love it and would not rather be anywhere else. And seeing the support and everything from our HOKIE family has been unreal. I would hope any incoming freshman who has VT on their list will come here and know what it's like to be a Hokie. The nation knows what it's like, but it's so much more that that once you're here.
