Thought Id stop back in and give a run down on what I discovered this w/e from the 3 dealers I visited.
1) Brim (NH) in Issaquah
Models I was interested in: TC30, TC33DA, TC35DA and TC40DA
My salesman was Nathan Jameson(tractornate in this forum). For sure this guy was willing to please and really rolled out the red carpet!!! I've never been treated like this in any dealership Ive gone to. He was more than willing to spend all the time necessary to hear what I wanted, make suggestions and show equipment. Given local prices I think his initial quote was reasonable. Ill go so far as to say his price was even ballpark w/ internet pricing when you factor in shipping, taxes and prep service. Im basing this on quotes I got from Corriher. I could say alot more about buying locally... I was also surprised at the list of prep items they do prior to delivering a new machine so that its trouble free right off. This sort of attention is worth money esp if down time costs you in some way. If there were problems they were willing to provide a loaner and be flexible about pickup (if that was necessary). Based on first judgements I would certainly not hesitate to recommend Brim. I would do business w/ them. After all was said and done I'm only considering a TC40...probably w/ a hydro transmission.
2) Town & Country (MF and Cub) Monroe
Models I was interested in: 1433
This dealer was closed. However, they didn't look terribly prosperous w/ 6 new machines and a hand full of used. I think this must be a sideline as it was part of a tire store.
3) Barnett (JD) Snohomish
Models I was interested in: 4410, 4510 and 4120
My salesman was Dave Bates. While he was helpful if asked he also didn't go to any great length to offer info that might have been helpful. He didn't know the tractor lines well as he was a 'lawn mower salesman'. Thats OK though b/c much of what I wanted to know was in the JD literature. Between us we figured out most of the missing pieces. His price on the tractor was competitive w/ NH (the implements were WAY more expense though). I found that the ten series was being phased into other lines and after some discussion figured that the 4120 matched my needs best. I must say that the 4120 is a super machine and exclipses comparable NH machines in most categories. This is certainly a case of the machine selling itself. However, given the whole picture it would be a tough sell based on the inflated implement prices he was quoting. I still like the tractor though and am planning to revisit this dealer when its not raining and do a test ride on a machine equipped w/ a loader.
I hope this was helpful and I'm sure I've missed some infos that might be important. If you have questions I'll be glad to answer them if I can.
