Dealer WA state dealers and what to expect

Sorry Jim, I can't even ask any friends about the dealers reputation. As I sad, they only recently started stocking the CUT's on the lot. The dealership has been there for as long as I've been in the area (8yrs) so it's not a startup, I just didn't see the Case line untill after I made my decision.

Hi Larry,
On 2nd thought...last time I looked the Case line was basically just a repainted NH tractor. That is there was no reall diff that I could tell between the 2 lines. When I was shopping for my first tractor I looked at Case but couldnt find a dealer. Since though I understand a dealer has taken on the line very near my home (in NH). So, thats not going to do me much good out here though. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif If its stil ltrure that both lines are essentially the same then theres no reason to go w/ Case since theres a great NH dealer so close.

That was my point. After I bought my tractor I compaired the specs and found them to be identical...right down to the engine manf.
Since I had had made my decision on a tc33d, I certainly would have entertained the same Case model if the dealer could have met my price. I really wanted to buy locally to establish that relationship but also needed to get the best price.

Thanx for the lead but having the dealer so far away wouldnt work out that well. Id rather deal w/ someone locally....and there are enough of those who are offering pretty good deals.

Hello again Jim, how goes the tractor shopping? I can remember the months of negotiations and research prior to making a decision. And you're looking for a house too...you must be a negotiating fool by now /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Well I went to Brim again today (probably the sixth or seventh time) and they were closed again. It seems it's dfficult to get there when they are open. I wanted to buy filters for my tractor and came away empty handed.

I took a look at the equipment in their lot and I would say their demographics was the rural professional that liked to do a lot of his (or her) own landscaping. But if you want parts you'd better come in at a reasonable time...like monday to friday between 8 and 5. Now I know it was a hoiday, and the only reason I had the day off was because I do gov. contracting, but with the excellent weather we've had (seat time /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) I needed to do a fluid change. Maybe I'm being a little shallow but I've always shopped the parts store and junckyard on my off-days...whatever happened to the shade tree mechanic?

It sure would be nice if Brim would consider the rural professional in their operating hours.

Done venting /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hi Larry,
The tractor shopping is going well....wished I could say the same for house hunting. This time around though its going to be tough b/c the Deere salesman tendered a great offer on the tractor & implements. I very much like the 4120...alot in fact. However, there are features on the 45DA that are very nice too like dual power. In fact that one feature could clinch the deal. Anyway, at this point my minds not made up but I will say that Brim is doing a far better job at being hospitable than Barnett's. This past Sat I went to the Issaquah store (which was open) and test drove the dealership and a 40DA. In fact this trip was more about what Brim is as a dealership than the tractor...although the tractor ride was instructive and fun. I also did make it up the Mount Vernon store on Sat noon and was surprised they were closed. The feed store next door was open and doing a brisk business. I also noted that the machinery on Brim's lot was getting its fair share of attention as well.

I would have to agree about the cross section of machinery on their MV lot. I would expect this at the Issaquah store but not in the middle of a heavily ag area. Barnetts, which is just down the road, has machinery more in keeping w/ the area. Then again I suspect any dealer is selling alot more compacts than utility tractors these days. I believe the shorter hours are a winter only thing which will change shortly. At least thats the impression I got from Nathan at the Issaquah store.

Im beginning to think that the stories about the nasty western WA weather are just myths. When I first got here the weather wasnt that great but lately its been outstanding! It really makes me long for a place of my own to work on.

Jim- don't get used to it. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif We're having a fluke winter, courtesy of El Nino. California is getting all of our rain and then some. So far we've had less than an inch of rain in February, as opposed to our usual 3 inches by this time of the month.
