Wait Time for new Garage Door

I ordered. 7x9 insulated (2" injected) with insulated glass windows and the wait is 6-7 weeks since they have to make it. Supposed to arrive June 1...I hope

Everything Attachments has always asked for payment up front!
They have had lengthy backorders for several years now.

They must be worth it if people are willing to pay then wait. Good for them. Great business model - let customers finance your business.

The reason for the wait is that they produce a top quality product, and customers are very willing to pay up front for that quality.
I have done just that TWICE, and both of my EA attachments are truly first class in every way!

I refused to do it for several reasons. Among other things, I don’t write interest free loans. The final straw was when I followed their link to their website, or it may have been their FB page. I consider it very unprofessional when a salesman posts a letter of complaint on a public forum, and encourages his “groupies” to pile onto the complaintant. I felt like I was back in HS. That may be acceptable behavior to some, but not to me.

Long wait times and pay up front seems to be the new business model. My parents ordered new living room furniture in October and were required to pay up front. They ordered two chairs and a couch with a February delivery date. February came and they were told April.

April came and they were given a specific date and told the old furniture had to be out of the way. I get some help to move the old stuff. I have the old furniture on the trailer hauling it off when my Dad gets a call saying the new couch is damaged. My Mother still does not have a couch she paid for in October.

Don't get me wrong!
I am NOT an EA groupie!
I take issue with their advertising "free shipping", as being deceptive advertising.
Their "free shipping" is to the nearest freight terminal, or to a business with loading dock.
When I have items "shipped" to me, I expect them to be delivered to ME,...not to some other location, for me to then pick up.

I've had enough different types of orders go wrong that I would not prepay for very many things anymore.

One of my pet peeves is finding out about delays or extended timeline *after* the order goes in. If the vendor can't give me an accurate timeline up front, I won't commit. I don't mind waiting if I know what I am getting into and it's acceptable, but when there is no timeline available, that's a problem.

This is exactly why I am cancelling the order. Visa's time limit for any dispute resolution is max 120 days. That limit would be expired before my installation would be complete.
