Wait Time for new Garage Door

I ordered 2 aluminum and glass garage doors, i thought they were expensive at about $5K installed. My brother the builder said, take it easy Jr., people spend 10 times that all day every day.

6 weeks lead time.

I have 5 younger sisters - no brothers. I always wanted a brother.

no sisters here, no daughters, no wife, no more grandmas, no more aunts, a couple nieces i don't see much of.

my new pup is a girl, just got clipped yesterday.

My female friends tell me it's real obvious i didn't grow up around many females. hmmmmmm

All i remember is mom throwing the food on the table and stepping back to watch!

I am very opposite you.

Females were my most influential persons growing up - Grandma, Mother, sisters and wife. I was very very fortunate.

Between my 2 grandpas, my dad, and me, there are 18 females and no other males. Those guys showed me all the good hiding spots. Behind the garage, back of the shed, row boat in middle of lake. They'll find you in the basement if there's no other way out, that's why you need a walk-out basement. WALK-OUT? Run!

But seriously, being around that many women, you see the crap they have to deal with in society. Academics, sports, business, etc... yikes.

I ordered a 12'x12' door and opener for my shop from a local installer in January. He said the typical wait time lately was around 9-10 weeks. I asked him what he needed from me. He said nothing until the door installation is finished. The door came in and was installed the first week of April.

First off, are you sure they actually charged you? Alot of times when I order things from H. Depot I see a hold placed on my card to make sure the credit line is there, but the actual charge does not occur until the item is shipped. They did that with new custom window coverings I ordered.
when I installed 2 new garage doors last year, I went to local garage door company. I got nearly the same deal as h depot, but dealt with the installation company and not a middleman. Unit took about 6 weeks. I paid them 50% deposit as they were custom doors. The rest after install.

Ha ha! Believe it or not we had 2 full bathrooms growing up - a hall bath for the kids and a MB bath for my parents.

Amazingly enough, I don’t recall it being an issue. I guess kids just adapt.
