Walked out of Scooby Doo

PG is Parental Guidance suggested. Some materials may not be suitable for children. The movie markee also has the note, Some rude humor and language and some scary action.

Seems to be pretty much saying what your saw. You need to look at more than just the rating. The ratings are so broad, but now there is text further explaining the reason for the rating. Most of the recent animations comming out are PG, needs to be pretty calm for a G rating.

PG is not what it used to be. Air Bud was PG, not a single thing scary or sexy about Air Bud, just pure fun for kids.

The old G,PG,PG13,R and X ratings were updated a number of years old. IN addition to a rating they have a content marker that goes along with the movie for just the issues that were bought out in this

The orginal Air BUD was PG rate with a comment of Rated PG for brief mild language.

All the other air buds were G rated.

What passes for 'brief, mild language' sure wouldn't have been labled as such when I was a kid, nor is it now, at least at my house.

All part of the accelerating coarsening of America. If you look at a picture of the crowd at a major league baseball game in the '50s, you will see men in ties and jackets. Today, you're lucky if the drunken slob beside you is wearing a tank top in lieu of paint. And so it goes with language, and soon thereafter, behavior. One assumes the WWF wrestler is our new model of how the American Male is expected to comport himself.

Hollywood has driven away an element of viewers with the non-stop profanity and violence, but I'm sure that was part of their plan. Whereas we used to go to the movies nearly every weekend when we were young, today there is simply nothing of interest playing.

That is why I stay home and watch American Movie Classics and the Westerns Channel on cable.

They actually gave your money back? Theatres have always stiffed me when I protest!

Thanks for the heads up. We haven't been in a movie theatre since long before our 8 year old son was born. Thanks to your review, I will know what the neighborhood kids are describing to my kids. I've got all mine on a short leash, unfortunately most everyone else in the neighborhood doesn't.

It all make the time we spend on the farm even more important to all of us.

"They actually gave your money back?"

Yup. I guess it depends on the manager. Plus, since this theater is not in a big city I'm sure he realized his customer base is limited, so he needs return customers.

Yep, that was it. The name just came to me today. A sign of my age, I guess.

And now for something completely different... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

<font color=blue>"I'll just watch some reruns of Monty Python's Flying Circus, some of which goes a tad over the top."</font color=blue>

Dead Parrot, Ministry of Funny Walks, No One Ever Expects the Spanish Inquisition. Nothing funnier.
