Walked out of Scooby Doo

In my opinion, 6 year olds should only be watching Rated G movies anyway. It is not really a children's movie, and if it was to be one, it would have been Rated G rather than PG.

Gatorboy - I pretty much agree with you, except that Disney PG is fine for that age also. Disney is on a different scale than the rest. Also, it's tough to try to explain to a 6 year old who watches the Scooby Doo cartoons all the time and loves every minute of it, why they can't go see the movie. They plaster the ads all over, so the kids know the movie is out.

Dan,
I think, as mentioned by others, that things are just changing and not necessarily for the better.

There was a movie out in the early 80's starring Walter Matthau and Ned Beatty as CIA agents. It was called Hopscotch. Walter Matthau quits the agency and writes a tell all book. It is a comedy.
Someone found a copy and gave it to us this past Christmas. Watched it and enjoyed it thoroughly. No actual killings, no nude scenes and no sex. Ned Beatty's character says the "F" word a dozen times. Imagine my surprise, when I put the movie back in it's case to see it had an "R" rating. Wow. Probably get a PG today. Yet 20 years ago profanity alone resulted in an "R" rating.
