Walmart Super Tech Oil

Have used Wallies oil for yrs. Has same API rating as all the national brands. One car had 260k miles on it when sold and still running. Never any engine problems. Another car had 180k miles on it when sold and no problem while I owned it either.

No hesitation using it on anything I own.

It is in fact a Quaker State brand folks. Speciality Oil (Pennzoil-Quaker State) Stupp Corporation. The SuperTech is most likely just a repacking of the standard Quaker State or Pennzoil brands.

I did a finance search and found the 10-K report that listed them as one in the same.

Has anybody found a spec sheet for the supertech oil. I have searched but I can not find the actual specification of the oil. I would like to know pourpoint, Viscosity index etc.

Marcussen,

AlanB's post (#6 in this thread) attached the pdf spec sheet. For your reference:

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/oil-fuel-lubricants/96832-walmart-super-tech-oil.html#post1101684 page 5 of 8 of that pdf gives you the data you're looking for.

Sorry I don't see any information in the MSDS that tells me much about the physical properties of the oil. This is the type of information I am looking for.

API Service ??
Flash Point, ??
cSt @ 40ºC ??
cSt @ 100ºC ??
Viscosity Index ??
Pour Point, ºF(ºC) >>
Total Base Number (TBN) ??

API, I imagine is on the bottle, and would bet it is whatever is current for that particular grade.

Flash, on the MSDS is -20f

Your centistokes measurements you will need to decide which oil, and call the company, and see if they will supply that, although I believe it is also part of the API cert the ranges that they fall within (Dieselpower? )

VI, again, I believe that is factored based upon the particular weight of the oil you are working with.

Pour Point -20f off the provided MSDS

TBN, again, I think you need to narrow your search to a particular oil, and ask the company if they will provide that info.

They wrote the MSDS to cover a broad range of oils, and some of the questions you are posing will have to be adressed to a particular one.

For me, if it meets the API spec grade, etc. I am pretty comfortable with it. But I am not sure exactly what your needs and desires are.
