Yeah that is a heck of a price! They are usually quite a bit more but I think these are cheaper as they are limited in their depth capability. I think I'm going to order them if still available.I always figured those were more expensive than that. That is not a bad price, with no shipping delivered to your door by the brown truck.
I have (had?) that mentality - not because I refuse to learn but because I didn't know any better - until this post.I have to work with people that have that "step up 1/8" or 1/4" each time mentality. The result is a ton of 1/2"-1" chisel point bits that have chipped/busted/cracked cutting edges right out at the edge. Some people just refuse to learn.
And it helps if you stop a pilot hole just before it breaks thru. Then fill it with cutting oil and go with the big bit.Yep. Proper way is to only pilot big enough to clear the chisel point. If you have split point bits, no pilot is even needed.
