i went with amico mts-205 mig/tig/stick dual voltage welder. i did a lot of research to find a unit that had

digital displays not to many have that, higher end unit, yes but not for me.

do i really need digital displays, doesn`t matter that is what i wanted. quite possibly made a big mistake , i

will find out. this unit i`m told is rather now to the market. did want to get a everlast but could not seem to

connect with them

I bought a HF 151, 240V unit on sale. Put a gas bottle on it (TSC sells them, 25% mix works fine and is cheap) Had it for over 5 years. Has never let me down and I weld some thick stuff with it besides sheet metal. A little slow going using .030 solid wire on thick metal, but I have plenty of that being retired. On welding sheet metal, a dream. Seldom use my stick anymore. The welds are clean and really strong.

Another vote for a Miller 211 MVP, especially if you are not a professional welder. I have an older transformer model and it makes my welding look like I know something about welding, which I do not; it is mostly the welder. And the new models have more features. I see to recall one of the Nascar teams owning these also, but do not recall the team at the moment. I remember a picture of their shop with a fleet of these things.

You'll have to post a review once you try it out. I have one from Northern Tool with similar capabilities and so far I like it a lot.

shield arc, appears you have been welding professionally for quite some time with much better equip. than i could afford.

cord. no, as i said i am a gorilla welder i have mastered nothing & probably won`t just like to play around with my stuff. no body work, i do most like to weld 1/8 up seems the thicker the metal more i can get away with, 1500.00 or 1000.00 is more than i am willing to pay at this time are not all or most of the mig welders chinese or some foreign country made.

drizler, i have a 220 volt inverter stick welder for about 3 years it is light & i want to stay with inverter mig.

ftg-o5, that is something i want to get is a plasma cutter. i have been watching a lot of videos on utube about mig welding & plasma cutters.

I wouldn't doubt that you could get a better deal working direct with Mark here on TBN - check the Everlast stickied thread and call and find out.
