I was brush-hogging a large dense field yesterday, almost 98 degrees outside, and a symbol ! in a triangle appeared on the dash. Just above the hour display, showed a 1 (one).
When it happened, the rpm immediately dropped. I stopped, shut the brush hog down, and lowered the throttle.... no change. Raising the throttle had no effect. I waited about 20 seconds then turned the engine off. After I turned it back on 10-15 seconds later, the symbol was gone and I was able to increase the throttle like normal. I headed back to the barn and parked it.
When this happened, the temperature showed 3 bars - pretty much what it always shows.
The field was very tall and very dense, I had the brush hog set real high or it would bog down during the cutting. But even with it real high, it would occasionally start to bog at which time I would engage the clutch, l would wait for the rpm's to get back to normal, and then continue cutting.
Any idea on the warning light??
