Warnings that make you wonder

My favorite roadside is on the NY 90 Thruway near the Lakeview Correctional Faculity. It says " Correction Faculity area, do not pick up hitchhikers"

I used to pick up and deliver items to all the state prisons in Michigan...saw those "do not pick up hitchhikers" signs all the time. Was always glad to get out of those places, it was easy to get in but when you left the guards would swarm all over my truck even checking underneath and atop the cargo box.

Thank your local attorney for the warnings, when I was with Black&Decker we shared the engineering computer with the legal department. I would read the law suits while waiting for my NC programs to run. some of the things people did and were suing the company for I would be ashamed to tell anyone I was so stupid. Like resting a 2X4 on your leg while cutting it with a circular saw. The suit said that there was nothing telling the person that the saw would cut them.
this is true.

I don't blame the lawyers. I blame the juries who award anything for such idiocy.

Blame the legislature who's laws don't stop frivilous law suites. Oh, those are lawyers. Sounds like a conflict of interest.

Years ago I came across a sign which said "Do not back in or out of this compound". Obviously the compound the sign was originally intended for was large enough to turn around in and drive back out the same way you drove in. The compound in the building we stored our crew trucks in was small and if you drove in, you had to back out and vice versa. (You can guess where I'm going with this, eh?) Yep! I hung that "Do not back in or out of this compound" sign on our building compound. Building manager had no freaking sense of humour about it at all...

How much money? :)

Look at this commercial at 14 to 16 seconds and 41 to 45 seconds.

1980 chevrolet citation commercial - YouTube

Bruce

That was funny!

Can you imagine GM making THAT commercial today? No Way.

The MPG was pretty danged good and while they called that a small car back then today it would be a large or medium sized car.

I remember the Citation. They were ugly then and they are still ugly. :D

Later,
Dan

I remember this one from a comedian. This was on a tube of Preparation H, "Use only as directed!" "Trust me, if you're buying it, you know what to do with it". "But sometime in the past, some nut told his wife, Honey I wonder how this would taste on crackers!" LOL

Reminds me of the joke about the lady putting that good Kentucky jelly on her toast
