Only Torinos I knew were all RWD, sister had a '74 model and I used to street race against
the '69-'72 models and those were all RWD too.
"Ford's newest bright idea" as they termed it, didn't include a FWD version. Perhaps you are thinking of another model.
Maybe you were thinking about an Oldsmobile Toranado. It and the Cadilac Eldorado were Front Wheel Drive. I believe the Toranado was the first American Front Wheel Drive since the 1937 Cord. Made from 1966 to 1992
