I install them on every loader bucket i sell. It doesnt void the warranty on the loader but will on the bucket itself.

Roy,
Thanks for the heads up. Not being a welder myself, I would not have thought to take the bucket off before having it welded. The welder should think about that, but you never know - until it's too late.

Well, I guess I have an answer.

The dealer still has the tractor for the nuetral safety switch issue and will deliver it tomorrow morning (1st it was thursday, then friday and now saturday )

I asked the service manger if they had the weld on hooks for the bucket and he said yeah, he has them for that tractor and he will send 2 with the driver tomorrow.

So, I assume if the service manager says yeah use them, the warranty must not come into play.

Thank you all for your input.

I will have to remember to remove the bucket before welding also, thank you Roy

You don't really need to remove the bucket, just don't do anything dumb like hook the ground to the 3pt hitch while you are welding the bucket. Make sure the ground lead is close to where you are welding.

OK...will do.

I have no decent welder of my own here yet.

I have a buddy with a truck mounted unit and he welds for a living and he is coming by Monday to do the welding. I would assume he should know about that kind of stuff......?

I will mention it to him before he starts.

About the welder...I had a cheap Crapsman 90 amp stick welder that wouldn't weld anything together.

I need to upgrade for the spring

I wish I lived near a real city...I hate traveling 2 hours to look for items like that

I would say that if you have a welded hook in the top of the bucket and the bucket is suddenly shaped like "^" with the hook at the point, then you are likely to run into warranty issues.;) I think voided warranties because of hooks are as rare as warranty claims on buckets. Has anyone ever heard of a warranty claim on a bucket? Not me. . . .

I assume the loader is a quick attach (not the bucket) ? If so just remove it from the tractor and weld the hooks on if you're concerned.

However, that's no gaurantee...and electronics on newer tractors can be susceptible to stray voltages. Dropping the bucket off...or the whole loader, is the safest way to go.

I've never heard of a bucket warranty claim either...

That's what I did Roy.........

When doing any welding on a car I've always been told to disconnected the battery to protect the electronics. Don't know if "they" are correct but I've never had any issues either.
