Do they set up dealers for less than $500,000.00 dollars worth of investment in tools parts and equipment. Wouldn't a hose machine be a requirement to have a franchize. Maybe that is why many new dealers only last a few years not enough investment for the long haul. But you will need a large cash flow to support those investments. Guess Mahindra's don't break that much?

Our crimp machine was free as long as we buy our hose and fittings from Parker :)

Kind of like inkjet printers...it's the stuff you run through them that costs so much! I think our machine was "free" with our first order of about $5000 worth of hose and fittings. It gets used daily. I'm not sure how we ever did without it when we were first getting started.

I took my 3215 4WD to the dealer on 05/30/08 for some warranty work. The connectors to the fel were leaking hydraulic fluid. I assumed it would be a quick fix, but not hearing from them for a week I called them on 06/05 and they explained they were waiting on the hydraulic hoses from Mahindra. They thought they would be arriving via UPS on 06/06. Well, I was busy until 06/10 and after not hearing anything I stopped by the dealer that afternoon. I saw my tractor parked in the back lot and was hoping it was all completed and ready to go. Not. :( Service personnel advised they were still waiting on the hoses from Mahindra. They said they ordered them on 06/02. They asked me to call back on 06/11 around 3 pm. That is what I did and still no hoses. They said they called Mahindra and for what ever reason the parts were still not shipped. Dealer said they should have them by 06/13. Of course I was a little ticked since I need to get my property mowed and was hoping to do it tomorrow. Dealer was saying that he has been waiting on parts from Mahindra for several tractors for a while, and he was getting a little tired of it.

I have no clue if I believe the dealer. I would think that hydraulic hoses are pretty common and would always be in stock. With warranty work, does the dealer have to get the hoses from Mahindra or can they just use hoses from a local provider? I purchased the tractor from this dealer and figured one week would have been plenty of time.

Just venting. Has anyone else had problems with parts not being shipped in a timely manner?

Strange. When I needed two long hoses to connect my trailer-type sicklebar mower to my Mahindra 5525, Dave at Dave's Tractor let me look through his stock of spare hoses to find a pair that would work. I needed a few fittings also and a short length of specialized hose with fittings which one of his guys fabricated in a few minutes time. The total cost was under $40.

Seems odd that your dealer couldn't get replacement hoses made in his shop or locally rather than ordering them from Georgia or Texas or wherever.

I had a rather long hyd. hose that looked like it was cut with a knife. Clean slice. It was on my loader and up in the air. The hole was on the back side, facing, and right next to metal. Hose, at that location, was new looking.

I did not consider it my fault, considering it's appearance and location. I replaced it myself with a hose made at an auto parts store. I had taken pictures of the hose still mounted, and sent those, the hose, and my receipt for the new one to my dealer. He in turn made a claim to Mahindra. Took a couple/three months, and I did receive reimbursement.

It seemed like a most common sense solution, and I appreciated the lack of hassle that sometimes accompanies such simple things:)
