Was anyone considering the Kubota MX5100 HST ?

well they told me the tractor would flipp over.i even had a kub dealer tell me that it wouldnt do what i wanted it to.but my dealer proved that it would.weve hayed with it most of the winter an loaded hay on goosenecks with it.

Sounds like some of those dealers never heard of ballast. The only legitimate concern is really loader lift capacity as there is no real way around that limitation other than to use smaller bales.

that or they really didnt care if they sold a tractor or not.my loader an 3pt have plenty of lift on them.

Just came across this thread and had to laugh. A new Holland TC 40 DA HST will easily lift a round bale of hay 1500 pounds to 1800 pounds no problem just make sure you correctly ballast tractor. I don't have a picture of us bringing hay in with my old TC 40, but here's a picture of a Bradco 1400 pound grapple and you guess what the rock weighed :) that was a small one, you should have seen what I lifted with that tractor LOL I believe the tractors called a 3040 today take care

Yes, Radium, I'm with you. I also laughed and shook my head at the comments on this thread.

My T2310/ 3040 has handled some incredibly heavy loads. Here is a very large birch root that was so heavy that it unloaded the rear tires of the tractor even with the backhoe on it! I could only move by shifting into 4 wheel drive to move the root to its final location. I'll take reality over kool aid any day.

Given your price and HP/ size range you might want to look at the Kioti DKse or it's twin the Bobcat CT400 series. They are about the same size/weight as the MX5100 and very good values. Available in same frame and loader with 41, 45 and 50 HP for $ high teens to low twenties.

Should of known this would be in the Kubota line sooner then later!!!!

i beg to differ on that. Kubota for the most part is to light and the hydraulics are slow.

What might you be comparing? That is a vary general statement that could be said about many things.

Hey Art, since when have you kept your Kubota dealer opinions out of the other forums?

But, now that you've decided to be snippy, why don't you tell us why a MX5100 is such a better value than say a DK50se for someone who wants to lift bales?

Lets see: FEL lift capacity (Oops!) 3pt lift (Oops!), Hydraulic output (Oops!), Transmission speeds (Oops!). Fully synchronized (Oops!) Tractor weight (oops!) Longer Warranty (Oops!)

Well Art, at least Kubota always has the price advantage over Kioti right?

YES they do!!! All across the world!

I took enough of the other orange tractors in trade over the years back to know what they are and the value they are to sell. None were but about five hundred hours and with a few hundred dollars of repair they all were sold. They were originally sold as being Kubota's! Great quality dealers that come across with false values and perception. For your bio I think you should know that I have owned more of them then you have!!
I have a thing about doing my own testing as I've seen plenty on paper that didn't work in the field!
Some companies have problems with the translation in and of facts.

I know I'm on other areas, I do try not to bring up the value of other make tractors when people are broke down.

You're stuck in the past Art. You sound like a Toyota dealer telling potential customers that all Hyundais are crap. Stop repeating your old dealer sales lines and go check out the competition. Sounds like you haven't actually seen a new DK or DS series Kioti much less operated or comparison priced one.

I mentioned the DK originally in this thread simply because it was capable of doing everything the OP listed on his task list and was comparable to the other tractors people were discussing (as well as being less expensive). That is what the forum is for isn't it? Your annoyance with Kioti's existence is old news on TBN but they are growing a lot faster than Kubota in recent years. Don't worry though, Kubota's number 1 spot in the CUT world is safe just like Toyota's is in the car world. You'll be hearing a lot more about Kioti/Hyundai in the future though so it might be wise to actually learn something about the products being sold today.
