Sorry Richard you are wrong on this one. The 4000 Twenty series is not built in China.

My apologies to John /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

The only Deere tractors built by China are for use in China and that part of the world, aren't they? I don't think there are any Deere tractors made in China being sold in the US or this part of the world, except maybe the toys.

I think you mean "sorry Richard." I'd hate for anyone to think I wrote that! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif John

It is working great. I'm glad it has good lighting,,, I just got off it about 10:30 tonight.

I have been busy lately and have been a little behind. We've had several rains on the weekends and the weeds were getting ahead of me.

The 4720 is making catch up much easier.

I gotta say one thing ( at least one )
I never expected it to be as much more productive even on straight rows - simple discing and such. The hydro saves a lot more time that I thought it would.

My rows are short so I have a lot of turning etc to do - and not having to jack with anything except slowing via the pedal and turning the wheel I can knock off a fair amount of time as opposed to my gear tractor.

I expected the best time savings to be in loader work (which hasn't come in yet ).

I keep forgetting to grab my digital camera from the office - but I will get some soon.

Does anyone have much experience with the top and tilt kit for the 3pt

I'm wondering if it is worth the investment.... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

If you ever have the top n tilt, you'll hate to be without it.

do you have to buy the diverter also
adds a lot of money for the diverter / the top n tilt kit isn't to horrible by itself pricewise....

I dont see it alone on the deere site but maybe an aftermarket ?

Also since I have rear single hydro - would just a hydraulic draft link only be worth anything.

When configuring a 4000 Twenty on Deere's site using their "Build Your Own" feature, you can select the Top & Tilt kit. If I remember right, you need the electric diverter valve with the T&T.

Thanks JayC

I did go there and also finally noticed that it says the diverter is required..

They are sold seperately however..
I'd almost be tempted to use some other hydro controls and get just the tilt - but heck if your gonna do it do it right.

At this point I"ll have to wait though.

I have way blown my budget on the tractor
I have a feeling this is going to wind up costing me not only a kitchen but some diamonds.

I started to put a smiley after last statement but I can quiet muster one up when thinking about what I am spending on this project. Crud I only have 5 acres although the orchard does take a lot of work.....

I"ll admit though,,, I mostly just love tonka toys /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

These small tractors kinda take me back to my big tractor days.

Totally unrelated I got to operate one of those big a$$ highway construction 'paddle loader' trucks that scoop up 17 yards of dirt per load. in about 20 seconds - a brand new 300,000+ dollar rig yesterdeay for about an hour. By the way you guys needing to move some serious dirt can rent a puppy like this for a mere 25,000 per month. 2,500 more for the insurance... max of 175 for that price.

The guy who had it told me what the levers all did and told me to get after it...

It was a blast - but I dont plan on chaning professions --- talk about a rough riding piece of equipment.....

Lots of levers and buttons /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif)))))

Kinda funny he wants to borrow my 4720 just to play around on ...
